Our handwriting transcription is highly accurate for Key Stage 2 writing, and we are continuously working to improve the quality. In cases where the handwriting is unclear, the system flags uncertainty so teachers can check or edit the text before feedback is generated.
Can you choose what to assess?
Yes, when you set up a lesson, you can define the success criteria you want the system to focus on. Redpen uses these criteria to guide and prioritise the feedback it generates, ensuring that feedback is tightly aligned with your learning objectives and useful for targeting gaps in understanding.
How do you upload work?
The teacher displays a QR code on the screen, students using any device with a camera then scan the QR code, choose their name and take a photo of the work. There is no requirement for 1:1 devices.
How do I export feedback?
Just select the pieces of work you want to export, choose your formatting, and generate a PDF. You can download it, print it, or export multiple pupils’ feedback in one go.
